Conversion tracking
Conversion tracking
Conversion tracking records actions defined as important to a business, such as an enquiry submission, purchase or booking. The event must represent what its name claims.
How it works.
A form-start event can show intent, while a successful-submission event should reflect actual receipt. A local demonstration should not fire a production lead event simply because it displayed a confirmation.
What to watch for.
Tracking a button click is not always equivalent to tracking a completed outcome. Duplicate firing, failed submissions and consent behavior can change what the data records. Test these cases before relying on the report.
Put the definition to work.
Define the action, trigger, destination and required parameters. Then verify the event against the real journey and keep technical success separate from commercial qualification.
