Qualified lead
Qualified lead
A qualified lead is an enquiry or prospect that meets agreed criteria for the next commercial step. The definition belongs to the offer and sales process.
How it works.
Criteria could include a relevant need, a serviceable market and a suitable role in the purchase. Define which conditions are required, how they are verified and who records the decision.
What to watch for.
A submitted form is not automatically qualified. A reachable person may still be unsuitable, while an initially incomplete enquiry may later qualify. Keep these distinctions visible instead of combining every unsuccessful case into one label.
Put the definition to work.
Agree the definition before setting acquisition targets or comparing costs. Review it with sales as the offer changes, and record changes so a reporting trend does not silently change meaning.
